The Flame Upon the Mountain

The Valley of Kildona once teemed with mythical creatures, or so the old stories say. No one believes in them anymore-no one except eleven-year-old Matilda, whose deepest desire is to find their hidden places. On Midsommar's morning, her search leads her to a mysterious waterfall that will change her life and her valley forever.

When animals vanish and loved ones disappear, Matilda begins to fear that something ancient stirs beyond the waterfall. Desperate to uncover the truth before the missing are lost forever, she follows a trail that leads her into legend.

But an enemy older than the mountains has awakened, and it burns to devour her valley, her family, and all that she has ever known.

As storms gather on every side, Matilda must choose whether to flee from the darkness rising around her... or follow the light she alone can see-even if it costs her everything.
