TO CRY AGAIN! TO TASTE THE BITTER AIR!
TO FEEL THE HEAVY WEIGHT OF LUST AND TIME!
THIS EARTH IS BUT A SLAUGHTERHOUSE FOR PRAYER
WHERE SOULS ARE DRAGGED THROUGH CENTURIES OF
SLIME.

In an era of fleeting digital sentiment, The Fraud of Eternity is a
return to the architecture of the dark. Written in the shadow of the
Lowell mills, Darryl Houston Smith rejects the soft comfort of
modern poetry in favor of the rigid, suffocating beauty of the French
Symbolists.

These poems do not offer redemption. They offer structure.
Utilizing strict ABAB rhyme schemes and dense, hyper-metric
prose, Smith constructs a cage for the modern soul-exploring the
duality of beauty and decay, the lie of the "Morning Star," and the
brutal recycling of the human spirit.
This is not a collection for the daylight. It is a mirror for the marrow,
written for those who know that the only way out of the
slaughterhouse... is through it.
