In 1870s London, skilled thief and former socialite Nicola Byrne must break into her childhood home to retrieve scandalous letters that could ruin her late father's reputation. But Nick's not the only one interested.
Jack Delacroix is one of London's best cat burglars, but a man with an axe to grind with Sammy the Smoke Byrne, kingpin of London's underworld - and Nick's uncle. Jack also wants those letters, but for his own ends. They're his ticket out of a life of crime. Security for himself and his two maiden aunts.
After a disastrous attempt to steam them, Nick and Jack find themselves in a reluctant partnership. Hunted by Nick's ruthless uncle, and abetted by Nick's family retainer Crichton, and Jack's elderly aunts, the two adversaries must learn to trust each other enough to pull off one last caper. Will they succeed in getting the letters back? Or steal each other's hearts?
