As history has proven, quiet people, living in uncertain times, can be caught in the midst of change that tests their character, integrity, and resolve. In a collection of fifteen tales, Barbara Wyatt Olson shares a fascinating glimpse into the lives of diverse characters that include a Cree leader fighting for the First Nation people's right to exist after a Canadian Indian school is shuttered, a young Beta Israel man attempting to survive the chaos of the Ethiopian revolution so he can finally reach his people's holy land, a female major serving in southern France who receives a letter in 1944 detailing how her family got its start in the Cumberland Valley in 1864 on the eve of the first national Thanksgiving, and a homeless woman as she struggles to protect her husband and survive on the streets of a Midwestern city, only to eventually experience a lonely death mired in scams, money laundering lies, and opioids. Memory of My People and Other Stories shares fifteen tales that highlight the lives of characters who demonstrate perseverance, courage, and hope while facing great change.
