商品簡介
This collection of essays and lectures on the discourse 'Politics and Literature in the 20th Century' deals with this topic on various levels: on the one hand, in the context of German-Czech history and literature (Kundera, Monikova, Brecht and his 'Schwejk'), and on the other hand, in the examination of writers' engagement with politics in the age of totalitarianism, such as National Socialism or Communism. The contributions in the third category deal with texts written after the great 'turning point' in global political and ideological conditions after 1989. They also address questions of 'everyday politics' that authors and intellectuals have to deal with in times of media democracy.
