Eleven-year-old Sasha Stone is a self-proclaimed "Ghost." In a middle school obsessed with the biometric mood-sensing app LinkUp, Sasha is just trying to keep her phone from glowing "Anxiety Purple" in the hallways. While the elite "Ice Pack" circle stays perfectly synced through trend-setting tech and "Cloud-Vapes," Sasha chooses to stay on the social fringes.

But staying out of the loop has a price.

When Sasha's cracked phone intercepts a glitchy, encrypted signal, she uncovers a terrifying secret hidden behind the screen: The Hive. Cyrus Vane, the bombastic tech mogul with a "people-first" brand and a billionaire's ego, is planning something much bigger than a software update. He wants total emotional alignment. And he's using North Star Middle School as his testing ground.

Before Sasha can hit "send" on the truth, the system hits back.

In a matter of minutes, Sasha is digitally canceled. A viral deepfake frames her, her social credit score hits zero, and her classmates-even her crush, Leo-turn into a wall of cold shoulders. Plunged into a "Social Blackout" and spiraling into a deep depression, Sasha feels like she's already disappeared.
