It's a case of bad timing for Violet Kaji. She's eighteen, in her first year away at a university, and she's just finished reading Jane Eyre. She meets a boy named Ben, and, like many since and before her, succumbs to its vision of romance.

The End of a Story follows Violet from the depths of winter to the blazing heat of summer, through both comedies and tragedies. Along the way, she meets all sorts of people, each with their own story.
What unfolds is a story about letting go, not only of fleeting crushes, but also those insecurities that get in the way, a story of discovery, of finding direction, and, eventually, even love.
