The document provides information on the reference values of peasant indicators of food insecurity and peasant strategies for preventing and managing this phenomenon in the Lukamba sector. The aim of the study is to contribute to the identification of food insecurity indicators and to analyze them based on farmers' strategies for adaptation and survival in the face of shocks and unforeseen situations in the Lukamba sector. More specifically, the aim is to characterize the agricultural production system in the Lukamba sector, define and analyze food insecurity indicators, identify and analyze farmers' coping strategies to ensure survival, and describe the problems associated with people's access to food.Farmers have developed three types of coping strategies in the face of food insecurity: food consumption strategies, economic strategies and non-food strategies. Analysis of survival strategies, which are strategies for managing food insecurity, has enabled us to produce the Survival Strategy Index (SSI).
