Cuatro a隳s despu廥 de comenzar esa haza鎙, logr?llegar a Espa鎙 y, tras varios meses durmiendo en la calle, me acogi?una familia. La primera noche que dorm?en su casa, pese a las comodidades y el confort, me puse a llorar como un ni隳. Por qu?hab燰 sufrido tanto? Por qu?tanta lucha? Qu?hab燰 hecho mal?

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION The odyssey of a young man who risked his life for a better future. My name is Ousman Umar. I know I was born on a Tuesday; I don't know what month or year because in my tribe that doesn't matter. I grew up on the African savanna. I walked four and a half miles to get to school. My life was happy and simple, until one day, while playing, I saw a plane flying. From that moment on, I wanted to be a pilot, an engineer--anything but black. My curiosity to see the world drove me to embark on a journey of no return to the Land of the White People.
At thirteen, I crossed the Sahara Desert on foot and the sea in a small boat, and I saw most of my traveling companions die along the way, including my best friend. Four years after embarking on that journey, I managed to reach Spain, and after several months of sleeping on the streets, a family took me in. The first night I slept in their home, despite the amenities and comfort, I started crying like a child. Why had I suffered so much? Why so much struggle? What had I done wrong?
Now, I need to tell this story, until there are no more stories like this to be told.
