商品簡介
When archaeologist and scholar, Joseph Bennett, vanishes from Machu Picchu while on an expedition to the ancient ruins, Christopher's life course is set. The Gateway is an adventurous tale that takes place at the onset of the turbulent years of the 16th c. Inca Empire. Three archaeologists- all intrepid time travelers from the future- are witnesses to the genius and grandeur of an empire on the brink of annihilation. With just a 72-year-old journal and a conviction of the heart, Christopher Giordano is determined to solve the mystery of his great grandfather's disappearance. With the exotic backdrop of ruins and rain forest, he embarks on this dangerous mission to find Joseph. By way of a sacred altar, Christopher is hurled through time into the schemes and power plays of the Inca as they fight to preserve their empire- his life threatened more than once in his quest for Joseph. He falls in love with an Inca Priestess named Shama, who finds with him the kind of love she's never known, pulling him between his two worlds, centuries apart. Having found Joseph, can he now leave this man who inspired him to move beyond himself? Can he leave the woman with whom he has found a profound love. More importantly, is it even possible to go forward in time- or will they all be lost forever to the unfathomable power of the Gateway?
