Who killed Franklin Fogg?
Franklin Fogg was dead. Very dead. Face smashed in, blood pooling around his crumpled body. Perhaps Strachan University's most controversial professor, Fogg was well-known even beyond academic circles---charismatic, confrontational, media-savvy.
And very, very dead.
Now Rachel Tile-in life Fogg's academic nemesis-must find out who murdered Fogg and whether the killing is somehow related to a terrible series of student suicides that have rocked the university to its core.
Praise for the Rachel Tile Mysteries
"An out-of-the-ordinary protagonist who thinks too much---and not enough." ---Rick Blechta, award-winning author of the Pratt & Ellis Mysteries
"Lorne Tepperman, a retired academic, draws on years of experience studying crime, gambling, and family relations in crafting this neo-noir thriller." ---Rosemary Gartner, co-editor of The Oxford Handbook of Gender, Sex, and Crime, on Deadly Donation, the first book in the Rachel Title series
"Down Country is a compelling book that thrusts the reader into the world of academia and organized crime... Tepperman weaves today's social issues into his book with respect to criminology and disinhibitions, begging the question: What makes people shed the norms of societal convention and slip into lawlessness?" ---Angela van Breemen, author of the David Harris and Emma Jackson Mystery series, on the second book in the Rachel Title series
