WHAT IF THE GOSPEL YOU INHERITED WASN'T WRONG-BUT TOO SMALL?

You believe Jesus saves. You may have spent years in church, read the Bible, prayed, served, and tried to live faithfully. And yet somewhere along the way, you may have begun to wonder whether something was missing.

Why does the gospel we preach so often seem focused almost entirely on what happens after we die, while Jesus spent so much of His ministry talking about the Kingdom of God?

Why does salvation sometimes feel disconnected from discipleship?

Why can faith become little more than believing the right things, while the life Jesus actually described seems so much larger?

And why do so many Christians know how to talk about going to heaven someday, but struggle to explain what it means to live under the reign of Jesus right now?

In Thy Kingdom Come: The Missing Gem in the Gospel, Sean Christopher Taylor returns to the message at the center of Jesus' teaching: the Kingdom of God has come near.

The Kingdom was not a side issue in the ministry of Jesus. It was the announcement that framed His teaching, His miracles, His confrontation with evil, His call to discipleship, His death, His resurrection, and His commissioning of the Church.

Jesus was announcing that God's reign was breaking into the world through Him.

That announcement changes the way we understand nearly everything.

The gospel is not merely an invitation to secure a destination after death. It is the good news that Jesus is Lord, that God is restoring what sin has broken, and that a new humanity is being formed around the crucified and risen King.

Seen through the lens of the Kingdom, familiar Christian ideas begin to reconnect.

Grace is not opposed to obedience.

Salvation is not separated from discipleship.

Faith is more than intellectual agreement.

The Church is more than a weekly gathering.

Eternal life is more than simply living forever.

And following Jesus is not primarily about escaping the world someday, but learning to live faithfully within God's reign now.

Thy Kingdom Come explores how the Kingdom of God brings coherence to the story of Scripture-from creation and Israel to Jesus, the cross, resurrection, the Church, and the promised renewal of all things.

Along the way, Taylor examines how reducing the gospel can unintentionally distort the Christian life. When the Kingdom disappears from view, salvation can become transactional, discipleship optional, obedience suspicious, and the mission of the Church confused.

Recovering the Kingdom does not mean abandoning the gospel you were taught.

It means seeing the larger story that gives the gospel its shape.

This book is for Christians who still love Jesus but sense that the version of Christianity they inherited no longer explains everything they see in Scripture. It is for people who have grown weary of religious performance without wanting to walk away from faith. It is for pastors, church leaders, longtime believers, questioning Christians, and anyone who wants to understand what Jesus meant when He proclaimed the Kingdom of God.

The invitation of Jesus was never simply, "Believe the right things so you can go somewhere else when you die."

It was far more disruptive-and far more beautiful:

The Kingdom of God has come near. The King is reigning. Come follow Him.

This isn't a different gospel.

It is the gospel in its fullness.

And life under the reign of Jesus begins now.
