商品簡介
This book explores the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in fostering planetary resilience, with a specific focus on urban ecosystems. It reframes AI from being merely a tool of optimization to a foundational agent of environmental and urban governance. The scope of the book spans multiple disciplines, integrating AI with climate science, sustainability, and urban development. It covers key subspecialties such as air and water quality monitoring, waste management, energy optimization, and climate adaptation strategies, emphasizing how AI models can predict, monitor, and mitigate environmental hazards. Dr. Sargiotis introduces innovative AI frameworks like Spatio-Temporal Graph Networks and Hybrid Machine Learning models, applying them to real-world challenges such as pollution forecasting, resource management, and resilience building in cities. At the same time, it underscores the ethical implications of AI in governance, urging the integration of ethical boundaries and environmental considerations in AI system design. The book aims to provide not only a technical roadmap but also a conceptual vision for the future, where AI helps create sustainable urban environments that are both smarter and more resilient, ultimately contributing to global efforts for a healthier, more sustainable planet.
