Doomsday preppers. YouTube prophets. The man who sold his farm for a date with the Rapture. Dr. Chase Reason has spent twenty-two years as a federal scientist explaining to the American public that the world is not ending. Not on Tuesday. Not on May 21st. Not on any date predicted by a man in a beanie with a YouTube channel and a very earnest expression. But nobody listens.
The End Is Nigh (Again) is his satirical masterpiece-a takedown of doomsday prophecies, conspiracy theories, and the grifters who profit from fear. From the Great Disappointment of 1844 to the Y2K panic, from the Mayan calendar to the chemtrail believers, Dr. Reason dissects the human tendency to panic with the precision of a man who has explained the same basic concept four hundred times and is very tired of it.
With chapters like "The Rapture Calculator(TM)" and "How to Explain Science to a Man Named Cletus Who Is Holding a Megaphone," this book is for anyone who has ever rolled their eyes at a doomsday prophecy and wondered
why.
Praise for Dr. Chase Reason: "A masterpiece of exhausted sarcasm." - Dr. Drew Blank, Ph.D. (Director of Applied Patience, Retired)
"The only man who can make the Mayan calendar funny." - Anonymous colleague
Warning: This book is not for the easily offended. It is for the tired. The skeptical. The ones who have drawn diagrams while others ate the crayons.
The world is not ending. It's Tuesday. It's just Tuesday.
