Meet Polly. She looks like an ordinary girl: she goes to school, sits in class, and tries very hard to fit in. There's just one problem...Polly is an android. Nobody ever explained why humans have so many confusing rules, especially the ones about how girls are supposed to act, dress, like, and behave. Why do friendships change overnight? Why does saying the exact same thing get different reactions? And why does everyone else seem to know how to fit in except her?
Between her superhuman strength, accidental chaos, unexpected feelings, and a father who sometimes forgets to recharge her battery, blending in is harder than it looks. But when Polly discovers Shakespeare, she thinks she's finally cracked the code. After all, when someone humiliates you, excludes you, or turns your friends against you, there is only one logical response: revenge.
Convinced she has finally cracked the code of being human, Polly puts her new knowledge into action, with increasingly disastrous results. Can Polly learn the difference between fitting in and being herself before her perfectly logical plans turn school upside down?
A funny, heartfelt diary-style adventure about friendship, identity, and learning there's more than one way to be human.
