商品簡介
Written by a published author of syntheses of early and present-day Christianity, Prophets for Today enters a more fundamental and questioning aspect of how the people of God in the twenty-first century can learn his will from indisputable sources as authoritative as Holy Scripture. This book assesses various methods of learning God's word for today, such as Bible alone, apostolic succession, apostolic tradition, early church writers, and past claimants to prophethood, such as Muhammad, Joseph Smith Jr., Ellen G. White, Baha'u'llah, and Herbert W. Armstrong. Prophets for Today critiques past attempts and discusses the need and probability that there can be and even are a prophet or prophets for people today and assesses qualifications by which ordinary believers can identify them. It also provides advice on what to do until they find one or more.
