Emergent Spaces and Evolving Forms of Gender-Based Violence in Zimbabwe

This book examines how gender-based violence in Zimbabwe has evolved across new and emerging spaces, from online platforms and higher education institutions to workplaces, informal settlements, and diasporic communities. It argues that gender-based violence can no longer be understood through traditional lenses focused only on domestic or intimate partner violence, and that an intersectional, multi-sited analysis is now required. Bringing together scholars from several disciplines, the chapters trace the intersections of gender, class, migration, technology, and policy, showing how social change has reshaped both the forms and the experiences of violence. Case studies, qualitative narratives, and policy critiques give the collection empirical depth while contributing to debates on gender, power, and digital cultures in the Global South.
