Emerson tries to maintain her early success at Cheer-a-Bration while getting to know her fellow cheerleading campers in this second book in the drama-filled Top of the Pyramid middle grade series. After earning a spot on the A-team and making friends that feel like they could be real, Emerson Prescott is full of confidence for the next several weeks of camp. She's not even worried that her micromanaging mom is plotting to film the final camp competition on live TV for her talk show. Well, okay, she's a little worried about that last part.
Then Coach Stacia announces that the campers will be competing amongst themselves for center flyer in just a few days. If there's one thing about Emerson, it's that she won't settle for less than the best. She's a winner, and she wants to keep it that way. But she's also having fun at camp, getting to know Riley, keeping mean-girl Izzy off her case, and starting to think Chris Li might like her--and she might like him back.
Can she achieve her goals and still have enough time to make these friendships stick around? Or will the stress of the balancing act lead her to take a tumble?
