一、配合行政院之「長期照顧十年計畫」及「長期照護服務網計畫」，因應台灣面臨超高齡、少子化及雙薪家庭結構，照顧人力的縮緊，故協助民眾能學習專業性照顧技巧，並加以所學實際應用，本書訓練課程內容依衛生福利部中華民國111年8月24日發文字號衛部顧字第1111961835號修正【照顧服務員訓練實施計畫】，名稱並修正為【照顧服務員資格訓練計畫】並將「感染管制及隔離措施課程」納入照顧服務員訓練核心課程，學員線上學習必須修滿25堂課並通過考試，始得取得照顧服務員資格訓練學習證明書。 二、衛生福利部於114年6月19日公告「長期照顧服務申請及給付辦法」修正案，旨在配合預計於115年施行之「長照十年計畫3.0」政策為推展長照計畫為實現在地老化，提供從支持家庭、居家、社區到住宿式照顧之多元連續服務，普及照顧服務體系，建立以社區為基礎的照顧型社區，期能提升具長期照顧需求者與照顧者的生活品質。本書編輯理念在於協助照顧服務員習得之技能，以協助及維護個人衛生及儀容之整潔，協助日常生活活動或做簡易物理治療的活動，也能了解如何減輕自己身體的負擔、心靈的壓力，並且轉成一份專業，到醫院、機構或居家做服務，當因被照顧者需要服務時，透過您的專業性照顧，轉而提升生活品質，有尊嚴及自主性的能力，更能提高大眾對照顧服務員的尊重，以及照顧服務員的價值與專業，讓更多人願意投入照顧服務的行列。 三、訓練課程應依序完成：核心課程、實作課程、綜合討論與課程評量及臨床實習課程。課程進度與安排則以淺入深的授課方式，依序以學理教導後再實作術科教學，指導實作課程及實習；結業證明於訓練期滿後，訓練單位應將結訓人員名冊、出席情形及考核成績（含實習）等相關資料，經考評及格者，由訓練單位核發結業證明書。另，各縣（市）政府得依其業務需要增列分科訓練課程內容與時數，增列課程為【性別平等課程】、【就業市場趨勢分析及求職技巧】、【家庭暴力、老人保護及身心障礙者保護工作概述（含相關政策與法律）】、【認識老人人權-照顧與尊嚴】、【活動方案帶領】、【口腔內(懸壅垂之前)及人工氣道管內分泌物之清潔抽吸與移除】等等，本書依職場上最重視的兩性教育，將【性別平等課程】列入。
