In Rosie Young: A Lifetime of Selfless Service, Moira Chan-Yeung presents a brief history of Professor Young’s remarkable career in medical education and administration at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and her wide-ranging public service to the community over many decades. As the first female dean of HKU’s Faculty of Medicine, her career was deeply intertwined with the socio-economic development of Hong Kong. After her retirement from HKU, she continued to serve HKU and the community up to the present. This book illustrates her many contributions to the development of medical education in Hong Kong and to the university administration at HKU. Professor Young’s extensive public service in the field of medicine also helped improve primary care, hospital care, and public health in Hong Kong. In short, this book provides a valuable record of a female giant in Hong Kong’s medical history and documents her selfless and enduring service to the HKU community and Hong Kong society.

Comfort Women Activism follows the movement championed by pioneer activists in Japan to demonstrate how their activism has kept a critical interpretation of the atrocities against women committed before and during World War II alive. The book shows how the challenges faced by the activists have evolved from the beginning of their uphill battles all the way to contemporary times. They were able to change social attitudes and get their message across. Yet the ambiguous position of post–World War II Japan’s government—which has consistently rejected any sign of guilt over its imperialist past—has kept the activists on their toes. Pivotal and serendipitous turning points have also played a crucial role. In particular, in the early 1990s, the post-Soviet world order assisted in creating the appropriate conditions for the movement to gather transnational support. These conditions have eroded over time; yet due to the activists’ fidelity to survivors, the movement has persisted to this day.

Taiwan is now facing the pressure from regional economy expansion, new threats from Asia’s newly developing countries and competition from Japan/Korea with their strong industrial vertically integrated power. Moreover, there is a trend for those major western multinational companies to move their overseas manufacturing and technical services back to their mother lands, creating a new face of the global supply chain. 數位家庭過去十年發展顛簸 早在2003年6月，Intel、Microsoft聯合其他15家廠商組成數位家庭工作聯盟（Digital Home Working Group，DHWG），正式進軍數位家庭。當時，Intel成立消費性電子產品事業群（Customer Electronics Group，CEG）負責推動數位家庭事業發展；而微軟則發表一系列以Microsoft軟體為開發平台的數位家庭產品。在2006年Intel推出ViiV平台發展跨產品內容分享與存取；而在2008年Intel則與多家廠商組成Home Grid發展家庭聯網標準。 相較於Wintel，日系家電大廠Hitachi與Panasonic在1999年即倡導利用電力線（Power line）作為家庭聯網技術，成立ECHONET聯盟；而Sony與Panasonic亦於2003年7月成立CELF聯盟，訴求採用Linux作業系統作為資訊家電軟體平台。雖然，各方有採用的技術、平台不同，共同目標皆是建立互通性標準規格，讓各設備可以相互操控、內容共享，以創造數位家庭商機。 除資通訊與家電大廠外，網路服務業者如Google也看好數位家庭未來發展，2009年推出家庭用電監控平台Power Meter；2010年與Intel合作推出Google TV；2011年在I／O年會提出Android@Home計畫。然而，受限於網路基礎環境尚未成熟、廠商各擁自有標準、產品互通性不足，以及消費者習慣不易改變等情況下，數位家庭計畫推動並不順利。Intel因而在2011年組織調整，關閉數位家庭部門，結束生產電視晶片。 智慧家庭仍吸引各方業者競逐 數位家庭計畫雖未能如大廠期待在短期內開花結果，或由任何一方主導產業發展，但隨著網路環境、主要壓縮格式與傳輸技術成熟，部分概念已逐漸落實，如影音內容跨產品分享。廠商們仍舊看好家庭領域未來成長潛力，不同的是以「智慧家庭」取代「數位家庭」，並呼應行動智慧裝置的普及，在產品概念上，更強調「感測」、「智慧控制」與「雲端服務」等特性。 在2014年美國消費性電子展（CES）中，韓廠Samsung與LG接力日系家電大廠，推出智慧家庭自有整合平台。Samsung推出Smart Home Service Platform採用開放式平台架構，提供遠端操控、監看與智慧化售後服務等功能，並開

根據市場研究單位調查，2009年行動上網使用者近達6億人。在全球行動化趨勢風潮下，行動裝置使用者對於行動應用需求與日俱增。行動裝置也隨著電信、電腦、電視與廣播逐步整合。傳播科技匯流與整合下，引領更多元化的嵌入式行動應用範疇。如何滿足6億行動上網人口之應用需求，並洞悉未來行動裝置應用軟體發展趨勢，已是業者相當重視之議題。3.5吋以上多點觸控式螢幕改變客戶手機使用經驗。 隨著iPhone推出，流暢的使用介面與無線網路功能，將智慧型手機應用推向高峰。智慧型手機連網應用面向逐漸擴大，如何透過輕便、智慧化、簡單的方式，令使用者獲得最佳的行動使用經驗，應用軟體扮演相當重要的角色之一。在LBS（Location Based Service）、行動上網、社交網絡風潮，iPhone、Nokia等大廠推動下，遊戲、圖資、語音辨識三大應用，在行動裝置嵌入式應用軟體方面將扮演重要角色。 本研究以市場應用趨勢為主軸。一方面剖析行動裝置嵌入式應用軟體重要廠商之產品服務與發展動態。另一方面，分析行動裝置使用者對行動裝置嵌入式應用軟體之需求。研究成果可作為我國應用軟體廠商掌握熱門嵌入式應用軟體未來商機與技術發展佈局之參考。

隨著許多大企業、新創公司與國家巨大資源的投入，並滿足人類移動需求，自駕車已然成為熱門的課題。自駕技術已經成為改變全球汽車產業甚至是交通服務的關鍵力量，不論是車廠、ICT業者、新創團隊等無不積極投入，甚至是部份專精於自駕技術的新創團隊，受到非常高的評價與投資。此外自駕技術的進展，也將對交通服務的發展造成衝擊，特別是如移動即服務（MaaS as a Service）之發展，自駕技術將成為重要的推動力量。 自動駕駛車輛具有改變交通服務的潛在能量，不論是用在一般消費者的消費型市售產品，亦或是用於商用服務的商用車輛。不過目前各大車廠雖然積極發展自駕技術，但受限於使用環境複雜、技術障礙，法規配套等因素，大多數車廠對於Level 4以上的產品，仍採取比較保守的規劃。 在發展自駕車的過程中，AI是其中最關鍵的技術之一，從感測、分析、判斷、執行的過程中，任一過程都脫離不了AI技術的輔助，因此國際主要車廠或是汽車產業的一階供應商皆投入大量資源進行相關AI技術的研發，以期能夠在自駕車的競賽中取得先機。為了搶佔自駕車的市場商機，各大車廠或透過自家成立新部門，或透過投資或購併，無不積極投入AI技術或系統的研發。 自動駕駛技術之興起，帶動汽車產業邁入革新時期，而伴隨汽車核心組件動力傳動裝置新興技術的發展，另推波助瀾加速顛覆傳統汽車產業。如自動駕駛控制ECU為控制ADAS、自動駕駛系統的控制元件，藉由檢測、辨識、判斷、控制來實現自動駕駛。車載資訊控制單元（TCU）主要是讓外界系統能與車上電子控制單元進行互動，藉以提供額外的車載服務或功能。 自動駕駛會採用多種感測技術，而車輛應用領域對零組件及系統之穩定性有極高的要求，因此不少技術是先獲得智慧型手機、平板電腦、伺服器等民生相關產品採用，而後才將之用於車輛的案例。 隨著自駕車技術正快速成長，其掀起之各類相關主動式安全產品亦受到產業關注。其搭載主動式安全產品包含：LIDAR、攝影機、毫米波雷達感測器與超音波感測器等。 傳統上汽車各系統間的橫向聯繫相當有限，但隨汽車高度電子化與自駕技術的發展，除汽車將不斷與外部環境進行溝通互聯，在汽車內部從感測器、訊息傳送、判斷決策、指令執行的過程，也將會把汽車內部眾多系統進行串聯。此外未來汽車許多新的功能、技術也多得透過空中下載無線更新（Over-the-Air, OTA）的方式進行，資訊安全的防護對於新世代汽車的發展
