This book is the result of discoveries made by Nivison beginning in 1979, It uses critically (without superseding) his monographs from 1983 through 2002, combined with his discoveries through 2008. Its main thrust is to show that the methods and results of the PRC “Three Dynasties Project” are invalid, and that recovering chronology before 841 BCE can be solved only by using the supposedly spurious Jinben Zhushu Jinian (“Modern Text” Bamboo Annals), combined with hypothesis that reign lengths of record were normally the years after completion of mourning for the preceding king. Part One presents resulting exact dates form the beginning of Xia, confirmed by discoveries in astronomy by D. W. Pankenier and Kevin Pang. Part Two criticizes the Three-years Dynasties Project and argues for the post-mourning hypothesis and the high antiquity of the three-years mourning institution. A Pragmatist and His Free Spirit portrays the unconventional love of Hu Shi, a Chinese social reformer and civil rights pioneer, and Edith Clifford Williams, an American avant-garde artist of the early twentieth century. This study investigates the internal structure of noun phrases In Chinese and argues that number, referentiality, and totality/partitivity are all syntactically represented. Viewing number in a new light, it claims that number in a classifier language is syntactically encoded via the use of a $P, i.e., NumP, the head of which is occupied by a classifier/massifier (cf. Boer 2005). Plurality Is realized differently in a #P via the use of numerals, the plural classifier xie, quantifiers, or the reduplication of classifiers/massiflers. The plural marker-men is a derivational suffix marking either collective plurality or semantic plurality, resolving the problem that syntactic plurality may co-occur with semantic plurality when syntactic plurality marks an indeterminate quantity. 我國將配合聯合國（the United Nation）與亞太經濟合作組織（Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, APEC），於2008年全面實施化學品全球分類與標示制度（the Globally Harmon ized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals，GHS），是一個與國際化學品管理趨勢接軌重要的開始，然而我國在化學品登錄機制與管理應用方面的發展，卻較許多先進國家起步晚，聯合國國際化學品管理策略方針（Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management，SAICM）中，危害物質登錄管理機制將是國家完整化學品管理制度中不可或缺的一環，未來我國在推動完整化學品管理制度時，必需同時考量我國需求與國際發展趨勢。本研究計畫以蒐集美國、加拿大、日本、中國大陸及歐盟有關化學品管理相關指引與現行登錄機制，針對危害物質登錄管理之相關要點做分析比較，並與我國現有制度以及未來推行化學品全球調和制度、法規修訂方向之必要措施配合等，提出我國未來發展登錄機制之建議參考。本研究建議以我國現有的主管部會管理機制為基礎，透過跨部會協調分工機制（如勞工委員會為實施GHS制度推動跨部會協調機制），共同建立一國家既有的化學品清單，並優先於作業場所法規中，對於新化學物質進入工作場所，須進行通報等登錄機制。未來更擴大應用於其他主管部會法規中，以健全完備危害化學品登錄制度，提供國家整體化學品危害辨識、風險評估與相關法規建置與管理之重要依據，並與國際發展趨勢結合。

在現今職場中，人工物料搬運作業非常普遍。過去研究大都針對不同搬運姿勢做逐一探討，著重於評估人工搬運作業時之搬運負荷指標，以避免搬運職業傷害之發生，但卻鮮少有研究針對搬運時人體平衡之反應探討。本研究應用基礎生物力學測量方法，包括了動作分析系統 (Vicon-460 Motion System)及測力板(AMTI-Force Plate)，探討人工搬運時，在不同地面條件及非對稱負重下的步態平衡反應。 本研究中，徵求15位健康受測者，男性10名、女性5名，以非對稱負重方式，單手側邊提物與雙手前向提物，以正常步行速度於不同地面摩擦係數(勞工工作環境常見之地板)與不同地面傾斜角度(水平與10度斜坡)下行走，並在水平地面時，考慮非直線搬運之情形(轉彎)。實驗中，將擷取受測者步態平衡與失衡後之動力學(Kinetic)及運動學(Kinematic)參數，包括身體質量中心(Center Of Mass)、足底壓力中心(Center of pressure)、RCOF(Required coefficient of friction)以及膝關節角度(Knee joint angle)等參數，用於探討不同負重情況及地面條件下對身體重心平衡之影響，進而了解預防滑倒之機制。 研究結果顯示，在未滑倒及滑倒時，受試者步態生物力學特性有顯著之改變。因地面與鞋底間的摩擦係數不足，進而產生滑動或滑倒之現象，導致身體重心偏移，失去平衡，同時引發身體產生相對應之平衡反應機制，決定最後人員恢復行走或是失衡滑倒。研究中除探討過去針對滑動距離及滑動速度判定滑倒與否(滑動距離>10cm或滑動速度>0.6m/s，高風險滑倒)，並根據滑倒現象發生之百分比率，定義各項參數滑倒與未滑倒之臨界值或特性。探討參數包含重心與足壓中心連線於行進前後方向之偏移 (當大於25度時，發生向前滑倒的風險較高、當小於10度時，向後滑倒的風險較高)，重心於行進方向之左右側之偏移(當大於10度時，側向滑倒風險較高)，膝關節與踝關節運動角度變化(膝關節屈曲較大，踝關節著地角度較小)。同時發現研究中探討之滑倒生物力學特性間，有很好之相關性，像是滑動距離及滑動速度(相關係數為0.84)。故評估滑倒之生物力學特性，並不能單只探討某項變數，應考慮到量測變項間之相關性，進一步修正及定義出較過去更明確之防滑安全範圍。
