In Queer Chinese Cultures and Mobilities, John Wei brings light to the germination and movements of queer cultures and social practices in today’s China and Sinophone Asia. While many scholars attribute China’s emergent queer cultures to the neoliberal turn and the global political landscape, Wei refuses to take these assumptions for granted. He finds that the values and pitfalls of the development-induced mobilities and post-development syndromes have conjointly structured and sustained people’s ongoing longings and sufferings under the dual pressure of compulsory familism and compulsory development. 本報告旨在提供研究人員一個較宏觀的視角觀察全球能源科學發展脈絡，以及政府擘 劃我國能源永續藍圖之資源配置參考，俾利台灣能源科技發展茁壯。由Essential Science Indicators 高被引論文之共同引用關係所建立的研究前沿(research fronts)，不僅是科睿唯安 (Clarivate Analytics)建立的一套計量分析資料庫，同時也是研究人員追蹤全球科研發展路徑的 一項利器。本研究藉此資料庫分析能源科學領域之研究前沿，在科睿唯安於2019年3月發佈的 8,914項研究前沿中，摘錄總被引用數Top30之能源領域研究前沿主題，共計676篇核心論文。 本研究報告針對676篇核心論文進行樣態分析，包含全球核心論文整體分析(論文分佈地圖、歷 年論文發表數與被引用數趨勢)、各國核心論文特性統計(論文數、總被引用數、論文影響力)、 主要研究單位、補助機構分佈，同時簡述各研究前沿主題之重點內容。研究結果顯示，美國 和中國在總被引用數Top30能源領域研究前沿之核心論文發表量分別佔有42.5%和39.8%的比 重，足見兩國在能源科學領域的優勢地位。在能源科學領域Top30研究前沿主題中，台灣總共 有14篇核心論文的發表，其中有9篇核心論文為台灣學研單位獨立完成的研究成果。最後，藉 由Top30研究前沿歸納出16個研究主題進行關鍵字檢索，進一步分析台灣相關學術能量，提供 我國研究前沿發展路徑規劃之參考。

The idea of a right to privacy, which arose in reaction to the rapid rise of newspapers, instant photography and the “paparazzi” of the 19th century, has evolved into a constitutional right in much of the developed world. It is enshrined in Hong Kong through Articles 28, 29, 30 and 39 of the Basic Law. Hong Kong stands proud as the first jurisdiction in Asia to enact legislation to safeguard personal data in the form of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, Cap 486 (“the Ordinance”) which came into force in 1996. At its centre are the six Data Protection Principles based on the 1980 OECD Guidelines. Essentials in the understanding of the development of pre-Qin philosophy. The Mingjia (名家, School of Names) is a notional grouping of philosophers first recorded as such in the Shiji. Their identifying feature was a concern with linguistic issues particularly involving the correct use of names. The group, as listed in the Han Shu, comprised seven men living between the sixth and third centuries BCE. A Sensational Encounter with High Socialist China is a recollection of the historic visit of fourteen American students (and one Canadian) to China in 1971. The visit was one of the first approved for American scholars after the Chinese Communist Party came to power in 1949 and occurred prior to President Nixon’s famous trip (as well as that of a second group of scholars) in 1972. One of these students, Paul Pickowicz, kept a journal and photographically documented the trip. This book is a personal account of the events leading up to their visa approvals as well as those that occurred during the journey itself. As a co-founder of the PRC’s first unofficial literary journal Jintian (Today) in 1978, Mang Ke was born in 1950. He began writing poetry as a sent-down youth in Baiyangdian, rural Hebei province, during the Cultural Revolution. One of the progenitors of what would later be called Obscure or “Misty” poetry, his spare, impressionistic poems were among the first to break free of the imposed discourse of Maoism towards an image-based literary style that left space for both expression and interpretation. This publication accompanies an unprecedented exhibition highlighting four of the magnificent chinoiserie tapestries of Chinese Emperor Qianlong, woven after designs by François Boucher at the famous Beauvais manufactory from 1758–1760. The large and well-preserved textiles form part of the royal French commission by King Louis XV, objects of which were presented to Qianlong in 1766. These celebrated tapestries are joined by another historic set of culturally related depictions in print—The Battles of the Emperor of China. The engravings were ordered by Qianlong, drawn by Jesuit painters at the Imperial Court in Beijing and then printed in Paris 1769–1774. The ‘culture’ of these prints follows King Louis XIV’s influential images of the Histoire du Roi and presents Qianlong as both a war hero and as the undisputed leader of China in the mid-eighteenth century.
