三維垂直地震剖面（three-dimensional vertical seismic profiling，3D-VSP）多波資料處理是一項系統工程。本書對3D-VSP勘探技術進行詳述，並通過該技術結合岩石及岩石物性參數變化規律進行研究，結合地震剖面及測井資料進行子波提取、地震記錄合成、剖面壓縮、層位的對比與標定，以及用振幅隨偏移距的變化（amplitude variation with offset，AVO） 技術對地區彈性參數的敏感性分析，取得了較好的解釋成果。本書在對國內外相關文獻資料的搜集、整理與分析的基礎上，從3D-VSP視角出發，對多波資料處理及解釋進行歸納與梳理，為地震勘探資料處理與解釋提供參考。本書的創新之處主要體現在以下幾個方面：（1）多波多分量勘探與單一縱波勘探相比，能提供的地震屬性信息將會成倍增加，並能衍生出各種組合參數。（2）垂直地震剖面（vertical seismic profiling，VSP）比常規地震剖面有更高的信噪比和更大的穿透深度，VSP便於通過井孔進行三分量觀測。（3）VSP不僅可分別利用上行波和下行波，而且可利用縱波、轉換波和首波等多種類型的波;與陸上勘探資料結合，可減少地震反演的多解性等。本書針對3D-VSP多波資料的特殊性，研究了一系列疊前處理方法和解釋方法，建立了疊前處理流程，滿足了3D-VSP多波資料處理及解釋的需要。同時在3D-VSP多波動校正道集的基礎上，實現了3D-VSP多波疊前參數反演，可直接獲得地層縱波速度、橫波速度、密度參數，為儲層預測提供可靠依據。
