台灣設計研究院自2020年成立至今已邁入第一千天。回顧過去，設研院不僅成功促成跨部會、跨地方的合作，更是讓設計力融入中央和地方的共同施政價值中。同時透過跨國合作，將台灣設計力推向國際舞台，打造出 DIT（Designed in Taiwan）的國際形象。過去，我們談論的設計，通常是指外觀與產品的功能加值，但丹麥曾提出將設計分為不同層次，其中「無設計」是第一層；「外觀造型」是第二層；「設計應用於流程的改善」，例如公司產銷、管理的 SOP是第三層；「將設計做為一種戰略，創造產業生態系統」則是第四層。設研院以設計階梯第四層作為核心策略，協助台灣社會打造更多元的環境。作為一個國家級的設計單位，設研院以設計思維和方法為基礎，透過不斷創新和探索，為社會打造更好的產品、服務和公共政策，並實現真正的社會價值。設計不僅是一種美學的追求，更是促進社會進步和創新的重要手段。設研院成功將設計力融入各個領域，包括社會創新、教育、城市美學和循環設計等，不僅推動產業升級和提升公共服務品質，更推動社會環境的永續發展。本書透過各關係人的觀點訪談，刻劃出設計作為戰略的設計實證，並彰顯設計在國家發展和社會進步中扮演著重要的角色。《設計改變台灣 1000 Days Of Design》將以五個章節，呈現這一千天的設計力成果。① 以設計形塑城市文化：沿著字裡行間，走逛台灣設計展等大型展會，看見設計如何改變城市風景。② 以設計促進公共創新：從校園改造到衛生所再設計，讓習以為常的大小事，有了正向改變的契機。③ 以設計驅動價值升級：將設計力與永續概念融入醫療、零售、農業等各行各業，為產業價值再升級。④ 培育與壯大設計力：從金點設計獎到新一代設計展，為島嶼設計能量蓄力。⑤ 設計如何引領價值：以設計研究、國際合作，陪伴設計產業往前路邁進。書中將向大家展示設計在各個面向的應用，我們希望能夠引起更多人對設計的關注和重視，為台灣設計產業的發展注入更多的動力。
