《甲子華章：中國政法大學校史(1952—2012)》出版於2012年，為校慶60周年系列叢書之一。該書系統整理了建校60年以來學校的建設發展，通過學校不同歷史時期的重大事件，反映了法大歷史發展脈絡。為迎接建校70周年(2022年)，中國政法大學黨委宣傳部擬在《甲子華章》的基礎上，對校史進行全面修訂，增補2012年至今的發展歷程，訂正原書中的史實錯誤，增修中央政法管理幹部學院歷史，並對全書加以適當的潤色。增補：選取2012年—2022年十年間影響學校發展的重大事件或重要時間節點，圍繞學校中心工作，描述近十年的發展歷程。編寫體例參照原60年校史，保持整體風格統一。增修：原校史中對中央政法管理幹部學院部分涉及較少，難以全面反映學校的歷史淵源。在修訂中，將對中央政法管理幹部學院的發展源流及其與中國政法大學的關係進行梳理厘清，並作為單獨篇章出現。訂正：對原校史中存在的明顯史實錯誤、說法互相矛盾、重要事實模糊不清的部分，重新進行核實確定後加以訂正。刪減：對原校史中不符合時代精神、不符合出版要求的說法、用詞、章節進行適當刪減；對原校史中無關緊要的內容進行適當刪減。潤色：對原校史中較為粗糙、原始的史料進行重新撰寫，適當進行文字修飾潤色，以使全書文字風格更加統一。
