《英語視聽說教程》是一本根據新的教學理念，集視、聽、說于一體的適合于獨立學院英語專業學生入學階段強化訓練的教材。旨在讓學生接受與中學階段完全不同的英語學習方式，為后期的英語教學作一個過渡和鋪墊。本教材分為學生用書和教師用書各一冊。
《英語視聽說教程》(教師用書)對照學生用書分為相應的l2個單元，每單元按Background knowledge，Reference Key，Listening Scripts及Translation的順序進行編寫。本教材內容可安排96學時，為期8周時間完成。具體做法是，每周l2學時，其中視聽6學時，視說4學時，語音2學時。該學時安排的框架在使用過程中可根據各校具體情況自行調整。
