Social Computing Theory and Practice: Interdisciplinary Approaches

This collection of papers presents an overview of the field and applications of social computing (such as social networking and social media). It is divided into four main sections that reflect the perspectives from which contributors see social computing: social, organizational, technical, and marketing. A sampling of topics includes: cultural and international aspects of social media, social contexts in an information rich environment, social networks and semantics, how social computing is driving market competition, and advanced multimodal frameworks to support human-computer interaction on social computing environments.
