商品簡介
Peonidis (philosophy, Aristotle U. of Thessaloniki) combines the idea that Kant's moral philosophy can serve as the start of a "normative account," that ideas proposed after the time of Kant must be incorporated, including those that assign a major role to emotions, and that such a combination of ideas is practicable. He begins by examining Kant's approach to ethics in Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals, but then immediately describes maintaining a certain distance from Kant's thought and developing a post-Kantian moral subject. He then works through the idea of sympathy, starting from Kant's reasoning and covering empirical findings to support the idea that sympathy is a moral emotion. Peondis then adds the idea that those who feel sympathy value personal autonomy and assume obligations to continue and complete the image of moral tradition.
