商品簡介
Eighteen academics and researchers from the U.S. and Canada contribute eight chapters synthesizing the longer report, Developing Literacy in Second-Language Learners (2006), which describes the findings of the National Literacy Panel on Language- Minority Children and Youth. The introductory and concluding chapters are virtually unchanged from the original report. Shortened versions of the remaining chapters examine the development of literacy in second-language learners, cross-linguistic relationships in second-language learners, sociocultural contexts and literacy development, instruction and professional development, and student assessment. The shortened, more accessible version of the full report is designed for researchers, teacher preparation courses, in-service staff development programs, and individual teachers and other school practitioners.
