Contemporary Issues in Leadership

William E. Rosenbach is Evans Professor of Eisenhower Leadership Studies and Professor of Management at Gettysburg College. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1977 in Business Administration (Organizational Behavior). Dr. Rosenbach served as the founding Chairperson of the Department of Management, Gettysburg College from 1984-1991 and 2000-2001. He was Professor and Head, Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership, U.S. Air Force Academy from 1982-1984 and member of the faculty there from 1972-1984. He was an Adjunct Professor at the Graduate Schools of the Universities of Colorado and Maryland. Dr. Rosenbach's research focuses on leader and follower behavior, effectiveness of leadership development programs, and the relationship of transformational leadership to organizational culture. He co-authored and published The Leadership Profile, The Performance and Relationship Questionnaire and The Leadership Competency Assessment. He is a founding partner of The Gettysburg Leadership Experience, a unique executive leadership development program at Gettysburg College.

Dr. Rosenbach serves as a consultant to business, government and not-for-profit organizations on specific, short-term managerial concerns as well as long-term leadership development. Clients include, GE Capital, IBM, USAA, The Brookings Institution, American Airlines, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Digital Equipment Corporation, National Computer Systems, North Start Steel, Booz-Allen and Hamilton, The Kellogg Foundation, Kentucky Bankers Association, General Motors Europe, Australian Institute of Management, National Australia Bank, New Zealand Institute of Management, Center for Creative Leadership, Australian Fire Protection Association, NASA, FBI, IRS, National Fire Academy, Federal Executive Institute, Utah State Police, U.S. Air Force and others.

He is the co-author of Contemporary Issues in Leadership (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th editions); Leadership: Challenges For Today's Managers; and Military Leadership: In Pursuit of Excellence (1st, 2nd, 3rd,4th and 5th editions) which has been translated into Chinese and Hindi. He has also published more than fifty publications in scientific and professional journals and books. Dr. Rosenbach is active in several professional and civic organizations including Academy of Management, American Psychological Society, Editorial Consulting Board of The Leadership Quarterly and The Journal of Leadership Studies, and Fellow - The Center for Excellence in Municipal Management. Bob Taylor was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on December 10, 1939. His education includes an AB (cum laude) in American studies from Allegheny College in 1961, an MBA from the Ohio State University in 1966, and a doctorate of business administration in management and administrative studies from Indiana University in 1972.

Commissioned through the Air Force ROTC in June of 1961, Dr. Taylor served as combat defense operations and training officer, a missile launch control officer, and as a training officer. From 1972-1980, he served as assistant professor, associate professor, and director of research in the Department of Economics, Geography and Management, USAF Academy, Colorado.
