商品簡介
These 27 papers attest to recent progress in deep underwater geology around Hawaii through an ongoing cooperative effort by US and Japanese researchers, and to understanding specifically of the growth history of the Kilauea Volcano and its instability, giant landslides in the northeast of Oahu, and the genesis of the Hawaiian plume and magma. Each of these sections is prefaced by an introduction. Participating scientists are largely from the Japan Marine Science and Technology Center, universities in Japan, the U. of Hawaii, the US Geological Survey, and the Geological Survey of Japan. The book includes physiographic maps, relief images, and color plates; it lacks an index. Contents of the CD-ROM are not specified. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
