商品簡介
Generated from presentations and discussions at a June 1997 symposium in Delft, the Netherlands, 33 papers consider technical aspects of instabilities in such solids as metals, polymers, rock, soils, and concrete. They cover classical bifurcation theory, experiments and physical mechanisms, and localization with and without internal length scales, juxtaposing very different material systems in each area in order to highlight similarities and the differences. Among the specific topics are analyzing shear failure in concrete materials, instability issues in single-crystal plasticity, localization patterns in ductile and brittle geomaterials, strain localization and void growth in polymers, and a non-affine network model for glassy polymers and predicting instability propagation.
