商品簡介

The overall premise of this comprehensive look at crop adaptation to climate change is yes, climate change will have a negative impact on crop production in most of the world's agricultural areas in the years to come. The first two sections of the book deal with climate stress factors, evaluating climate change by region, and physiological responses of crops to those changes. The third section addresses specific crops and how research is working to enhance their ability to adapt to change. The extensive coverage of the topic should interest a variety of industry professionals and consultants as well as academics involved in crop and food science, agronomy, molecular biology, plant physiology, breeding, and climate. While certainly written for a professional audience, the book exhibits straightforward and clear writing. Editors Yadav (Ministry of Agriculture, Afghanistan), Redden (Australian Temperate Field Crops Collection), Hatfield (National Laboratory for Agriculture and the Environment), Lotze-Campen (Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact, Germany), Hall (botany and plant sciences, U. of California), and 108 co-authors contributed.
