商品簡介
Mirrors is the device used to examine the relationship between education and popular culture by Silberman-Keller (PhD candidate, communication, film, and internet, European Graduate School, Saas-Fee, Switzerland). Rather than focusing on the insertion of pop culture into curricula, international contributors reflect on how these transformative media are as much constructions as other creations and call into question traditional boundaries. For example, Mary Dalton (Wake Forest U.) argues that most Hollywood movies mirror the political status quo. Implications for teaching are also discussed regarding video games, advertising, online fanfiction communities, and hip-hop poetry. Annotation c2008 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
