Artificial Higher Order Neural Networks for Economics and Business

Artificial higher order neural networks (HONNs) are used in economics and business areas for nonlinear data simulation and prediction. With chapters by international contributors, this book provides practical information on HONNs and their use for professionals and advanced students in economics, accounting, finance, and other business areas. The first three sections of the book describe specific applications of HONNs for economics, time-series data, and business. Some applications examined include electricity load demand and price forecasting using HONNs trained by Kalman filtering, a novel recurrent polynomial neural network for financial time series prediction, and foreign exchange rate forecasting using a higher order flexible neural tree. A final section explains fundamentals of HONNs, with chapters on dynamics of HONNs with delays, polynomial kernel networks, and high-speed optical higher order neural networks for discovering data trends in very large databases.
