商品簡介
This book is part of the highly successful Transforming Social Work Practice series and is written specifically to support students on the Social Work Degree. It is full of practical tips, case studies, activities and opportunities for students to critically reflect and explore theory and practice.
Psychology offers potential explanations for often complex aspects of human behaviour and development and is a vital part of the social work degree. It is also integral that students understand the importance of studying psychology in the context of social care.
This book offers a clear and accessible introduction to the subject, while offering students enough depth and breadth to allow the direct application of theory to practice. This fully revised second edition includes updated information on psychology and mental illness, as well as new formative exercises to help students integrate psychological methods to their own practice and study. Other areas covered include working with various service user groups, such as children and families, older adults and those with mental health issues.
Not just another psychology textbook, this book combines practical social work alongside sound academic analysis and will be essential reading for anyone studying on a social work or social care degree.
