The researchers also explore representations of women and technology in different media, and gender performance in Web 2.0 technologies, virtual learning groups, and online education. Three of the chapters employ a distinctive theoretical perspective that originates in the work of Karen Barad, a theoretical physicist turned feminist researcher, using the interactions of physics phenomena as metaphors for the interactions of people and the material features of their environments.
