商品簡介
English Heritage and the Highways Agency have been collaborating for some 15 years now on research into plans to improve highway access to the iconic landmark in southwest England. Everyone agrees that the project must be exemplary, for the sake of publicity if no other, so no stone is being left unturned. Here is a summary of archaeological concerns in the projected construction area, covering late Mesolithic and early Neolithic activity and environment, later Neolithic and early Bronze Age landscape and land use, the Middle Bronze Age to Romano-British periods, and geo-archaeological and environmental evidence. Color maps, drawings, and photographs accompany the text. The full technical reports are available online. No index is provided. Distributed in North America by The David Brown Book Co.
