Handbook of Biblical Criticism

Richard N. Soulen (emeritus, New Testament studies, Virginia Union U.) and R. Kendall Soulen (systematic theology, Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington, DC) update again their introduction to the methods, approaches, and technical terms in biblical studies, for students in other areas of religious studies. First published in 1976 and most recently in 2001, it has kept up with changes in the field over the decades. The alphabetical entries range from a sentence or two to several pages, but all include substantial references to biblical passages and other scholarship.
