作者簡介
Sylvia Chant, a specialist on gender and development, is a lecturer in Geography at the LSE. She has conducted research in Mexico, Costa Rica and the Philippines and is author of Women and Survival in Mexican Cities (1991), co-author (with Lynne Brydon) of Women in the Third World (1989, 1993) and editor of Gender and Migration in Developing Countries (1992). She is currently Vice-President of the Society of Latin American Studies, UK. Cathy McIlwaine is a lecturer at Queen Mary and Westfield. She has carried out research in the Caribbean and Costa Rica and the Philippines in the areas of gender, ethnicity and urban labour markets. She has also worked as a consultant on structural adjustment and urban poverty at the World Bank.
