Multi-Grade Readers Theatre

Pfeffinger, an author and former educator, and Barchers, an author, teacher, and editor, offer 36 readers theatre scripts (one for each week of the school year) to help teachers and librarians introduce the lives of authors of short stories, chapter books, and poetry to children in grades two through four in 30-minute class periods. Authors include Louisa May Alcott, L. Frank Baum, Lewis Carroll, Roald Dahl, Paula Danziger, Charles Dickens, Madeleine L'Engle, Mark Twain, H.G. Wells, E.B. White, and Laura Ingalls Wilder, and the scripts and discussion cover their lives and books or a specific time period. Charla R. Pfeffinger received her bachelor of science degree in elementary education and her master's degree in reading from Illinois State University, Normal, IL. Pfeffinger was an educator in Illinois for 22 years before retiring.
