商品簡介
One of the slightly unorthodox perspectives Miller (emeritus, linguistics, U. of Edinburgh, Scotland) includes in his introduction to syntax is that spontaneous spoken language must be taken seriously, that is, spoken language produced in circumstances that allow a minimum of planning time. He also thinks that grammar and meaning are related. Among his topics are dependency relations, usage-based models, grammar and semantics in regard to parts of speech, language complexity, and first-language acquisition.
