Mary Volmer was born in Grass Valley, California, and now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.? She earned a Masters degree from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar and an MFA in Creative Writing from Saint Mary’s College, California.? She is the founding director of the Saint Mary’s College Honors Program and a professor in the Collegiate Seminar and Composition programs. Crown of Dust is her first novel.
