His many-sided engagement with the Roman Empire embraces administration, mapping, travel, and worldview.Richard W. Unger, Ph. D.(1971) in Economic History, Yale University, is Professor at the University of British Columbia. He has published extensively on the history of shipping and beer production and consumption in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
