商品簡介
This text describes the foundations and applications of materials science for sophomore and junior engineering students. The text attempts to provide enough science so that the reader can understand basic materials phenomena, and enough engineering content to prepare a wide range of students for professional practice. Learning features include detailed chapter summary points and review, design, and computer problems, along with b&w and color photos, images, and explanatory diagrams. The text assumes first-year courses in college chemistry and physics. A calculus course is helpful but not required. This sixth edition contains new content on areas such as crystallography, bulk metallic glasses, and thin film deposition. In addition to new instructor supplements, this edition includes new chapter problems that require the use of Knovel, an online aggregator of engineering references.
