As with previous editions, the ninth edition of Hoy (Ohio State U.) and Miskel's (U. of Michigan) textbook summarizes and analyses the pertinent theory and research in educational administration, while also demonstrating its practical application. Designed for future practitioners, the text has been revised and updated throughout, including the addition of 200-plus new research and theoretical studies, substantially expanded coverage of teaching and learning, a new separate chapter on organizational climate, and major revision of the chapters on external environments of schools and on school effectiveness. Each chapter now concludes with a new Guides to Practice list, translating the theory and research into a set of practical imperatives for administrators.
