商品簡介
Paul (museum director, Liberty Memorial Museum of WWI, Kansas City, Missouri) details the first war between the Lakota people and the United States which took place along Blue Water Creek in what is now Western Nebraska from 1854-1856. The historical narrative is based on military records from the National Archives in Washington DC and other documentary sources from white participants, and focuses on accounts that were set down soon after the events. The narrative begins with the origins of the conflict, the Grattan Massacre, and progresses chronologically through the assault on Little Thunder's village on Blue Water Creek. Copious references are provided and an appendix lists participant accounts. Includes a substantial bibliography. This is a paperback reprint of the 2004 clothbound edition.
