商品簡介
This is the companion book to The Hagia Photia Cemetery, Volume I. It documents the pottery discovered in the excavations. Volume III will deal with obsidian, metal, and other objects. The early Minoan tombs at Hagia Photia in eastern Crete include the largest assemblage of Cycladic-style vessels found in Crete, as well as Cretan productian pottery. It is used to establish and date style parameters for Minoan and Cycladic ceramics. After a brief introduction, the text gives a catalogue of each ceramic vessel found at the site, under categories of form. There follows a general discussion of the pottery in both styles and their significance at the site and in the region. A section on petrographic and chemical analysis follows, then references, a concordance, and the index. The last section of the book is outline figure drawings of complex partial objects, and black and white photographs of all the vessels. This is a book for technical specialists on archeological ceramics, and archeologists with an interest in Minoan and Cycladic culture as revealed through the Hagia Photia excavation pottery.
