商品簡介
The Aftermath of Slavery, first published in 1905 by former slave William Albert Sinclair, is considered something of a classic for its examination and assessment of African Americans' struggles against white domination in the racially explosive years of the Civil War and the following Reconstruction. Born in 1858, Sinclair grew up during the era and was greatly influenced by what he learned and saw during his childhood. The book was published in the early years of what would become a lifelong fight for the rights of African Americans. A new introduction is provided by Alexander (African and African American studies, U. of Kansas). Annotation c2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
