"In these graceful meditations on the death of his father, on his own fatherhood, and on the trembling terrors and mysteries and miracles of life in America, Nolan reminds us . . . that poetry is another way of letting the world speak to us."?George Bilgere, The White Museum

作者簡介

Tim Nolan received a B.A. in English from the University of Minnesota in 1978 and an M.F.A from Columbia University in 1983. He graduated from William Mitchell College of Law in 1989 and has been a practicing attorney in litigation at O’Connor & Hannan, Rider Bennett, and currently at McGrann Shea, all in Minneapolis. During his time at Columbia, Nolan was the managing editor of Columbia: A Magazine of Poetry & Prose, and for five years was the primary poetry reader for The Paris Review. He has been writing poems for nearly forty years and his work has been published or is forthcoming in national publications including The Gettysburg Review, The Nation, The New Republic, and Ploughshares. Several of his poems have been read by Garrison Keillor on The Writer’s Almanac on National Public Radio, and former United States Poet Laureate Ted Kooser has selected Nolan’s poems for American Life in Poetry. Nolan’s first book of poems, The Sound of It, was published in 2008 by New Rivers Press, where it won the Minnesota Voices Project and was a finalist for the Minnesota Book Award in Poetry in 2009.
